Thanks for the update on your family, Jennifer. I will add the information to my files. I would love a copy of the Daniel Moore Bible record that you reference. Do you have a copy you could email to me? That is the first I have heard of this Bible Record.

I have a copy of the William Stone will that you mentioned. I have also found several references published regarding Caleb Stone. Caleb was employed by George Washington as the Head Carpenter at Mount Vernon in 1774 and was responsible for overseeing the renovations at Mount Vernon. He left there upon the death of his father and moved back home. I understand that he built quite a business "Caleb Stone & Sons" and that when he died he did have a rather large amount of land (11 thousand acres) and estate of over $6K. His will is in Fluvanna County-Will Book 2- January 7, 1807.

I have a fairly well documented (land records and publications) life of Marvel Stone which I would gladly share with you. Among this information I see occasional mention of a Uriah Stone. Do you by chance have any information on Uriah? I know that he and his wife Betsy died in Athens, Clarke County, Georgia around Sept 1818. I have a copy of his estate papers from that county. But, I have been unsuccessful in placing him specifically to any of the Stone descendants. I have some speculation about his background, but no definite proof.

Marvel Stone was the father of nine children and was married to Mary Julia Napier (who also died and is buried in Clarke County, Georgia just outside of Athens. I have visited her gravesite). I am a descendant of their son, Rene Chloe Stone who lived in Monroe, Walton County, Georgia. My family tree is posted on so I would just reference the readers to that site. If you have ancestry files, I would be happy to share with you my research. I also have copies of publications and deed records which have been shared with me by other researchers. My grandfather, Lowrey Stone, first started this research in the 1950s with his brother, Harry Ryals Stone and the notes they made are included in my research.

Any Help on Uriah Stone would be fantastic! I would love to fit him into our family tree and the appropriate branch!
