I guess that would help wouldn't it. :) Here's what we have. Thanks for your help! Let me know if you need anything else, and I'll see what I have. :)

William Harbord Stokes (1826 Darlington, SC - 1895 Twiggs County, GA) m. Martha Johnson (1826 Twiggs County, GA -1860 Twiggs County, GA)

William was the son of Freeman Walker Stokes (1807 Northhampton County, NC -1845 Darlington, SC) who married Elizabeth Melton (1807 Darlington, SC -1869 Darlington, SC)

Freeman was the son of Herbert Stokes (1770 Northhampton, NC -1780 Darlington, SC) who married Isly ? (D. 1818)

Herbert was the son of John Stokes, Jr (1743 Albermarle, Sussex County, VA -1810 Darlington, SC) who married Elizabeth ? (1735-1805)

John Jr was the son of John Stokes, Sr (1717 Albermarle, VA -1794 Albermarle, VA) who married Sarah ? (1721-1777)

John Sr was the son of Samuel Stokes (1695 Charles City, VA -1770 Sussex County, VA) who married Sarah ? (unknown)

This is where the confusion comes in. We show Samuel as being the son of John Stokes (1662 Charles City, VA -1748 Lunenberg, VA) who married Elizabeth ? (1690-1746) and John being the son of Sylvanus Stokes (1636 Charles City, VA -1704 Charles City, VA) who married Mary Bishop.
