Let me see if I can sort out some of your problems.

John Braxton Stogner was born ca 1815, SC. (He may have been the same John B. Stogden, living in Augusta, Richmond Co., GA in 1830.) John married Elizabeth (Bettie) Ann? Deal, 3 Jun 1836, Noxubee Co., MS. Bettie was born ca 1820, AL, daughter of Alexander Deale (ca 1782, SC-1844, Noxubee Co., MS) and Margarett Lawrence (ca 1787-1869, Macon, Noxubee Co., MS). They lived in Noxubee Co., MS in Oct 1850 with 8 children, all born MS. John was a planter (farmer), shown as age 35, with real estate value of $900. Elizabeth was show as age 30, born GA.

Now, in all, I have found 16 children for them. Now, if is only an assumption on my part, but I think John Braxton's father was John Stogner, born ca 1778 and found in Camden Dist., SC as early as 1798. If that is so, Benjamin Bynum Stogner, born 29 Apr 1817, Lancaster Co. SC was his brother.

John Braxton Stogner named one of his sons Benjamin Bynum also, born 1856. Will work on Abe Stogner later.

Capt. John Stogner was another line, so to speak, although I think we are all connected --- he was born 23 Sep 1816, Lancaster Co., SC and went to Carroll Co., GA to live and had a large family there. He served in the Civil War and thus, the name Capt.

Millard Stogner is not related to Benjamin Bynum Stogner directly. He is a son of John Washington Stogner, born ca 1818, of Cabarrus Co., NC, who took his family to AL. His son, Millard went on to OK.

No wonder you are confused. This Stogner family has took up 30+ years of my life and I am still sorting it out!
