The book is closed on who was William and Henry Stodieck parents.

Gerhard Heinrich Stodieck & Margaretha Charlotte Meyer had three children
Louise Maria Charlotte Stodieck
Fredrich Wilhelm Stodieck
Henry Herman Stodieck, Sr--This is my familiy line.

Gerhard Heinrich Stodieck then later married Anna Maria Catharina Weber and they had two children..
Gerhard August Stodieck
William Henry Stodieck-This is the line that lived in St. Louis and had the dry goods store...

So, William and Henry, Sr. were half brothers....

Notes on William Stodieck

Henry, Sr. had a brother who lived in St. Louis. One day Uncle Leo Stodieck visited the branch public library that used to be in the New York Life Building on 2nd Ave. S and 5th St. where he ran on the St. Louis City Directory. There he found William's name, address and business address. So one September he climbed on a Minneapolis & St. Louis train to look him up.

Leo Stodieck arrived in St. Louis on a Sunday, and waited until Monday morning to look him up. He got on a Broadway street car and found his store easily. His name was still on the awning. It developed that he had recently sold the business and retired.

Leo Stodieck went to William's home on Hawthorne BLVD., he got there about 10:00 am on a bright, warm day. The entire family was sitting on the front porch. Leo could not remember his first name, but he was widowed, so his son John and his wife, and their son John, Jr. greeted him.

These two elder Stodieck's, William and Henry, Sr., never communicated, and so they were interested in what Leo could tell them about Henry, Sr. John, Jr. worked for a Tobacco firm. He married a girl from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. All of them, with the exception of the wife from Cedar Rapids have passed away. {Not sure when this was because Leo’s Stodieck's letter to Lester Stodieck was not dated}
