I'm looking for information on Thomas Stockwell who married Sarah (Sally) Murphy on December 17, 1834 in Crawford County, Illinois. This couple was in Lawrence County, IL in the 1850 census, children listed were William born about 1836, Whitten born about 1843, Eugene born about 1846 and Albert born about 1849. Thomas Stockwell is shown there at age 40, born Iowa, and Sarah is shown there at age 38 born in Kentucky.

In the 1860 Clark County, IL census, in the household of Liberty Murphy (brother of my husband's ancestor), I found Whitten Stockwell, invalid; Albert Stockwell and Henry Stockwell.

This 1860 census information convinces me that indeed Sarah/Sally (Murphy) Stockwell was the sister of Liberty Murphy and of my husband's ancestor Marshall Murphy.

Whatever happened to Thomas and Sarah Stockwell and their children? Any information might prove helpful.

Thank you so much. Sharon Parrish, Indiana
