CORRECTIONS to PJ's reply
In my posting "Andrew J. Stockton of Stockton's Valley" I wrote that in the 1850 Pettis County, Missouri census Andrew's last name was spelled "Stocton."
In PJ's reply she posted that in the 1850 Pettis County, Missouri census Andrew's last name was spelled "Stockton."
The original census record clearly shows his name to be spelled "Stocton."
I wrote that in the 1880 Jasper County, Missouri census that Andrew's last name was spelled "Stocton."
In PJ's reply she posted that in the 1880 Jasper County, Missouri census Andrew's last name was spelled "Stockton."
Again, the original census record clearly shows his name to be spelled "Stocton."
I wrote that in the 1900 Jasper County, Missouri census that Andrew Stockton was shown as 77 years old.
In PJ's reply she posted that in the 1900 Jasper County, Missouri census Andrew Stockton was shown as 72 years old.
Not only does the census record show his age to be 77, but it also clearly shows him to be born in July of 1823.
There are also other items in PJ's reply that are clearly INCORRECT.
In PJ's reply she posted that in the 1850 Pettis County, Missouri census that Rosanna was born in "IL."
The 1850 census clearly shows Rosanna was born in "Ala."
In PJ's reply she posted that in the 1880 Jasper County, Missouri census Elizabeth E. Stockton, 16, was listed as "other."
First, her name is clearly shown as Elisabeth E. and NOT Elizabeth E.
Second, only Andrew's last name is shown and it is Stocton and NOT Stockton.
Third, Elisabeth E. was NOT shown as "other."
All of the above census records are easy to read.
