It appears John C. Stockton of Itawamba County, Mississippi was married three times. His first marriage might have been to Jency ___ ? ___, but this information is without any documentation. John's second marriage was to Reotha or Retha "Ruth" Watson on 10 Sep 1844, and John's third marriage was to Jane Hall on 8 Oct 1857. Jane Hall is said to be the widow of Thomas Hall. You should check posting 367 by Cheryl Cummings as she covers all of this material.
So it appears that Jane Stockton, the daughter of Samuel and Patience Stockton, is not the Jane Stockton shown in the 1860 household of Johon [sic] C. Stockton in Itawamba County, Mississippi.
