first of all I don't know if all of your info is correct but you have been looking at the census and you are sort of on to something. I am a davis descendent through clemuel davis which was the son of sarah davis stockstill and austins stepson. god forbid that I might be related to the stockstills through sarah davis stockstill because I seem to get a feeling that the stockstill descendents especially mr epps seem to think that the davis' are an odd race or something subhuman that it would be a crime to be related to us. The facts are January 30, 2007 my wife took a picture of Austin stockstills grave at walnut shade cemeteryin missouri and Sarah davis stockstill was buried next to him and there was no mary hedgepath then furthermore all the places's that you mentioned about the census such as 1850 taney county census you will find a clemuel p davis and family and you will also see his children and brother samuel you will also see not far from him Austin Stockstill you will also see this group in the 1840 census also you will find richard davis and his elderly wife which is the grandparents of clemuel they can all be traced back to north carolina where clemuel was born out of wedlock which is why her parents raised him I have also heard that clemuel father was a cherokee indian and that the last name was martin. my cousin donna wrote a book about the davis family her grandfather was ulyses sherman davis and he lived until the 1940's
