Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, Colorado

I used to live in Grand Junction, Colorado, where the main sports stadium was named STOCKER STADIUM. It was used mainly by Mesa College and the high schools in the area. Being from Pennsylvania, where there are many people named Stocker, I am intrigued as for whom it was named. Can you shed any light on this? Thanks.
