Here's what I have on her:
Nancy Ann Stockbridge (b. 1 Sep 1817 in NH?; d. 1888 in Dexter, Penobscot Co., ME), married Darius Sampson (b. 7 Aug 1815 in Leeds, Androscoggin Co., ME; d. 1890 in Dexter, Penobscot Co., ME).
Darius and Nancy (Stockbridge) Sampson had the following children:
1. Elizabeth B. "Lizzie" Sampson (b. 7 Nov 1840 in Dexter, ME), married Justin A. Taylor
2. Franklin Augustus Sampson (b. 1 Aug 1842 in Dexter, ME), married Rowena Shaffstall
3. Reuben Sampson (b. 17 Sep 1844 in Dexter, ME; d. 1920)
4. Sarah E. Sampson (b. 1846; d. 1846)
5. John M. Sampson (b. 1852; d. 1852)
6. Charles Melvin Sampson (b. 14 Feb 1852 in Dexter, ME; d. 1933 in Sturgeon Bay, Door Co., WI), married Josephine Houle
7. Alice A. Sampson (b. 1855; d. 1858)
8. Alice Ellen Sampson (b. 1860; d. 1924), married William H. "Will" Curtis - no children
9. Walter H. Sampson (b. 29 Jun 1861 in Dexter, ME; d. 15 Mar 1895 in Dexter, ME), married Lettie E. French
Any names look familiar? I have several obits which list Nancy Ann Stockbridge's birthplace as New Hampshire. It just never says which town, or her parent's names. Although perhaps this was New Hampshire "Territory" which later became part of Maine? Also, Nancy Stockbridge reportedly had a brother named David, but this is totally unconfirmed. Someone at the Dexter Historical Society told me this, but I don't know their source.
I'd be grateful for anything you can give me. Nancy Ann (Stockbridge) Sampson is my GGGgrandmother.
