of Hadley, Mass.; descnded from John Stockbridge who came to America, 1635,
in the ship "Blessing" and settled in Scituate.

published by D.L. Crandall, Mann's Bloch, Orange, Mass. 1899. p. 511.
of North Hadley, Mass.

He was married to Patience BARTLETT.123

21. Patience BARTLETT was born in 1753.124 She died on October 19, 1806.125
David STOCKBRIDGE and Patience BARTLETT had the following children:

i. Caleb STOCKBRIDGE was born on May 18, 1775.126 History of The

He removed to Hartford before 1819.

vii. Clarissa STOCKBRIDGE was born on May 10, 1785.132 She died.

viii. Calvin STOCKBRIDGE was born on September 15, 1786.133 He

Married in Pennsylvania, had a large family and removed to
Texas. Had a large tract of land for himself, wife and each child.
ix. Electa STOCKBRIDGE was born on June 12, 1788 in North Hadley,
Hampshire, Massachusetts.135 She died on February 7, 1877 in Whately,
Franklin, Massachusetts.136
x. Clarissa STOCKBRIDGE was born on June 7, 1790.137
xi. Elam STOCKBRIDGE was born on March 31, 1792 in North Hadley,
Hampshire, Massachusetts.138 The History of the Town Whately, Mass. 1661 -
1899, by James M. Crafts, published by D.L. Crandall, Mann's Bloch, Orange,
Mass. 1899. p. 586.
For many years he was in business. His real estate
transactions resulted very favorably. His inventoried nearly $300,000, which
was divided among his large number of heirs.
