Stockard Family Genealogy Forum
I don't have actual proof of marriage, but as mentioned in earlier post the information is from books published and available at Mid-Continent Genealogy Library. 1st book is "MAURY COUNTY, TN MARRIAGES 1852-1867" written by Byron and Barbara Sistler, Nashville, Tn. April 1986. The second book is "EARLY MIDDLE TENNESSEE MARRIAGES Vol. 2 BRIDES" by Byron & Barbara Sistler Nashville, Tennessee 1988. Her marriage to Americus Buch was in Maury County Tn. The 3rd book is "MAURY COUNTY COUSINS Bible and Family Records", compiled by: Maury County, Tennesse Historical Society, first printing-1967, Second printing-1978. Unfortunately at that time I only copied pages that mentioned Stockard name I didn't follow up on connected names. I do have the pages listed as "RICHARD STOCKARD BIBLE" published by Evert Duycminck, John Tiebout, G.& R. Waite, and Weusters & Skinners of Albany, George Long, Printer, 1813, now the property of Billy Grimes, Hohenwald, Tenn., copied by Marise P. Lightfoot, 3/15/1967. This is where Sarah Ann's birthdate is, but no mention of her marriages. The letter you mentioned from Alney McLean to Samuel M. Stockard is also in this book. I did copy that for my records. I can always go back to library and recheck books for anything else on Sarah Ann under her married names if you would like. It's just a short drive from my house. I'm not in Richard's line. I go from Mildred Stockard(1895-1926)&Leroy T. Hammons, Neil Brown Stockard(1851-1916)& Manerva Kirk,, William W. Stockard(1811-1882)& Susannah Emeline Reese, James Andrew Stockard(1787-1828)& Susannah Polk Reese,,James Stockard(1750-1818)& Ellen Trousdale, Capt. John Stockard(1720-1768)& Elizabeth Collins. Mildred was my g-grandmother. She died when my Grandma Jessie was only 7, so I never knew her. Let me know if I can look for anything else.Talk to you later.
