Hi:
In researching the Stobaugh's of Van Buren
Co, AR, I came across an article in the
book written and published by the VB
Historical Society. According to this
article, the first Stobaugh was J. Henry
Stoback (sp?) from Alsace region of Germany.
He immigrated to the U.S. in 1753. At the
time of his arrival he changed his
name from Johann Stoback to John Stobaugh,
thus the present spelling of the name.
Though I would pass on this bit of trivia
to you.
