Regarding the St John in my last queary, it was Joseph H. St John from New York, he and Nancy F. (Owens)Tilton were married on 17 Nov. 1865. Joseph apparantly left Nancy shortly after they married. In the 1920 federal census Carrie St. John was listed as living in the Middletown State Homeopathic State Hospital. Any of this sound familiar?
