Mike, there was a George W. Stith, born in Montgomery County, Kentucky 2/27/1843. He moved to Johnson County, Mo in 1858 and then to Bates County in 1881.He was the Treasurer and Justice of the Peace of Deepwater township in Bates County.Was in the Confederate army, 1861 for 3 and a half years, in the 1st kentucky, mounted and in the in 8th Kentucky Calvry, under General John Morgan, and captured in Ohio in July 1863.He married in Johnson County, Mo in 1870 and had two children.He was nominated and elected Associate Judge of the County Court.A member of the Christian Church.Got this from a book.No relation to me so no other information is known.Hope it helps even if just to eliminate him.Peggy
