My Stirrat ancestors come from Irvine. My Sam Stirrat was born in Irvine in 1830. He brought his family over in 1864 to the United States. I don't know what his siblings did, I am assuming they stayed in Scotland. Sam married Elizabeth McKinnon in St Quivox.
Sam's father William was born abt 1787 in Donnegal, Ireland and died Oct 28, 1855. He is buried in the Irvine Church Yard. William married Jean Blair in Kilwinning.
I have Sam's sibling's names if they would mean anything to you.
