It is believed(in the abscence of proof) that the Nathaniel Stinchcomb who is the Father of John Stinchcomb and wife Mary Dever/Deaver is the son of John Stinchcomb and Catherine McLane/McLean. The time is right, and the dates are within the right range. This Nathaniel would be the Lt. Col. of the Soldiers Delight Battalion of Maryland in the Rev. War. He was born March 22, 1741. John was born Nov. 25, 1767. Nathaniel would have been 26 years old at John's birth. Remember, I said; "In the abscence of proof". More research is needed to either prove or disprove this.
