Rob,
John Bennett b.@1805/6 married Euphemia Dawson [second married Sarah "Sally" Sims] and was s/o John Bennett b. 1779 & Charity/Charlotte Drake.
This John Bennett born 1779 was son of John Bennett b.@1744 & Lucy Unknown of Nelson Co., KY.
John Bennett & Lucy's daughter Hannah Bennett who married Joseph Stilwell are my ancestor's We have never found proof of parents of Joseph Stilwell and it is interesing to see Ann Stilwell living with a related Bennett family in Clark co., IL.

We also do not know parents of John Bennett born @ 1744. For many years stories were told that John Bennett born 1744 was son of John Bennett who was killed by Indians at Cox's Fort and his widow Mary Cox married William May. When I was checking information looking for original sources for this story, I found it was Isaac Cox who was killed by Indians and his Widow Mary Enoch married William May. Will of Isaac Cox and other records prove this.
So we have been trying to find where John Bennett was before living at Cox's Fort. The Rev War pension record affidavit by John Bennett[born 1779] in his brother-in-laws pension record states John's father John Bennett left Cox's Fort 1785, two years before his sister married Henry Randal/Randolph. Now John Bennett and Isaac Cox were in that Southeastern Part of PA. where the Stilwell, Heady's and other related families were before going to Nelson Co., KY.
Thank you, for this information on Ann Stilwell, just maybe there is a connection of Stephen Stillwell and Joseph Stilwell.
Eva
