This is so awesome for me to read all these posts that are asking about people that are in my family. I get goose bumps. Anyways, My name is Tammy Dawn Moon. My Mother's/Mother's side of the family is the side that follows the Steigerwaldt/Staggawalt/steigerwalt/etc/etc lineage. For me, it goes in this order...only listing those that follow the line not the spouses. I do have dates of births and some deaths as well as a great number of everyones children, and their children's children.

Me..Tammy Dawn Sampson
My mother: Glenda Scott
My Grandmother: Mabel Burns
My G-Grandmother: Ethel Brown
My 2nd G-Grandmother: Edna Ethel Stierwalt
My 3rd G-GrandFATHER: Winfield Scott Stierwalt
My 4th G-Grandfather: Hamilton Stierwalt
My 5th G-Grandfather: John Frederick Staggawalt/Stierwalt/etc.
My 6th G-Grandfather: Peter Steigerwaldt (Married to Anna Margaret Yost)
My 7th G-Grandfather: Johan Peter Steigerwaldt (married to Catherine Rugal)

BOTH Peter AND Anna Margaret Yost are burried here in Gosport, Indiana at the Stierwalt Family Cemetary..which is located on the Stierwalt Family farm and last I heard is STILL owned by the Stierwalt's. The Steigerwaldt/Steirwalt farm was bought by Johan Peter's son Peter, Jr. (my 6th G-Grandfather) In 1882, and is located in Owen County Indiana. According to what my GGAunt Christine (daughter of Edna Ethel Stierwalt and George Wilson Brown) had given me on them, they (Peter, Jr. and Anna Margaret) are buried in the family cemetery in the Northeast corner of the family farm. Their headstones read "Peter Stigerwalt born: Feb. 5, 1764 Died: Sept. 4, 1841. Anna M. His wife Born: June 16, 1775. Died March 2, 1848." She also wrote to me that, "This ground has always been in the Stierwalt family and now belongs to the Minor John Stierwalt, Gosport, Indiana." I am not sure if Minor John Stierwalt is stil alive or not as the information my GGAunt Christine gave me was given to me as a young teen. My GGAunt Christine is still alive...just very frail, and lives in Florida.

According to the Death report in the paper on My 3rd Great Grandmother: Edna Ethel Steirwalt Brown, she had a brother: Victor Stierwalt that lived in Kankakee, Illinois. She also had a brother: Frank Guthridge Stierwalt who lived in Clayton, Indiana. Grandma Edna died on June 3, 1957. She was, from what my Mom told me, because my Mom was spoiled rotten by were all of the rest of her grandkids..she was the greatest Cook she ever met. My Grandma Edna had made by accident a pie that has become a famous family recipe...Cinnamon Pie!!!! mmmmmm..Yummy! To this day the Cinnamon Pie remains a hit, as well as her recipe for Apple pie.
