I have been looking at Jacob Stier as well. My ancestor Jacob Stier married Barbara Mullerin in Frederick, MD, in 1771 and had 11 children, one of whom was my 2nd ggfather. I have been wondering if this is the same Jacob who came over on the Fane because of the following information from the Burgert book on 18th c. German emigrants:

Johann Jacob Stier and his brother Mattheus (sons of Christoph Stier, grandsons of Andreas Stier) came from Berwangen, near Heidelberg. They came over on the Fane in 1749. The book gives something of their ancestry, and if you search on familysearch.org for Stier, you will find many from Berwangen. The book also says that Jacob's sister or aunt Christina married Georg Taub, and that a Georg Taub appeared in Frederick, MD in 1766. So I have been wondering if this was my Jacob.

Would be glad to share information--Susan
