Your father was listed in the Kentucky Birth Index as William J. Stidham, Jr; his mother as Essie Ferguson. Listed in the 1930 census is a William Jennings Stidham, with wife, Essie, and children Wilmerding "Bill" Stidham and Ella May Stidham. There was another son, Taylor. The mother of Wilmerding, Ella Mae and Taylor was Ella or Ellen Strong, so Essie in the 1930 census must have been a second wife for William Jenning Stidham. I believe this William and Essie Stidham of the 1930 census were your father's parents. Do any of these names sound familiar? Go here for more informationon William Jennings Stidham:
