Sometimes similar surnames get mixed together. In the case of Simon P. Stickles, his wife was Georgianna Fennel(l). He has a son named Simon as well. Simon & Georgianna are not in the Stickley family, as far as I have been able to discern, but are of the Stickles family. Simon Stickley is a descendant of Hans (John) & Barbara's son Jacob Stickley by his second wife, Elizabeth. Simon's middle name is thought to be Peter - Simon Peter Stickley.

One of these days, it will be possible to use DNA landmarks or profiles to separate out the Stickleys from the those individuals who may be falsely identified as Stickleys, or vice versa. Over the years questions have been raised about specific Stickleys. I feel confident that DNA findings will eventually resolve the questions about the many, many English Stickleys. But, the science has not yet been refined to that point yet, contrary to some claims in the literature. I bow to a chastise if this not be so. My grasp of this emerging field is poor, but I believe that we have a way to go before ........
