Dann, I just read your message about wanting information on Andrew Stickle. I have a death date of 1863 rather than 62. I may have entered it wrong, but can check, because I got it from a granddaughter of Andrew's wife. She is still living. Andrew married Mercie Haywood 17 Sep 1858. Almost certainly they lived in Mt. Morris, Livingston Co., N.Y. They had two children. They were Carre, a female, pronounced Carrie, born 6 Apr 1860, and George C. Stickle born 28 July 1862. I do not presently know the cause of Andrew's death. My husband's aunt may know this. I will ask.
I know that Carre grew up to be a celebrated and well known concert pianist. She married a man with the last name of Dunning and had at least a set of twin daughters and maybe more children. Carre lived in a mansion in Pasadena. My husband's aunt Patty visited her there when she was a young girl. I believe the twins lived in New Jersey as adults. As you can figure out, little George did not live to be four years old.
At any rate Mercie was a young widow with little Carre and married again when Carre was almost 7 to Francis Sherman Dalrymple, a widower, in 1867, who had also had a son and a daughter in 1860 and 1862. His little daughter had died. Carre and Henry Dalrymple were a month apart in age. A few years later Mercie gave birth to two little daughters both of whom died very young and then when Carre and Henry were each twenty years old a little son, Lewis Clayton Dalrymple was born to them. Mercie was thrown from a horse and died when Clayton was three and his father died when he was six. He was raised by an aunt and later married and became the father of 5 daughters, 2 of whom are still alive. The oldest of the five was my husband's mother. My source of information was Emma Patterson Dalrymple Hill known to us as Patty. She had family Bible and other information
I hope that this is helpful to you. I will try to find out the cause of Andrew's death. Janet
