Grandfather John Stickel (Schtikel)b Jan 9, 1888 came on the SS Roland to NY May 22, 1896 from Blumental Demishwar Hungary via Bramen Germany. Mom's maiden name was Elizabeth Gravat, father's name John. He was headed for Taylor North Dakota to his dad's friend John Walk. His brothers Anton and Peter and sister Julia Schtikel were with them.
Father John was born in Kenigshof Demishwar Hungary Feb 12, 1858 and his mom, Elizabeth, was born in 1860 in Austria. They were married in Blumental Demishwar Hungary in 1877.
Grandpa John married Kathryn Plenard, my grandma, also from Hungary, when they came to the US. Her mom was named Juliana, and her sisters were Helen, Eva, Anna. They ended up in Portland, OR.
Anyone have any info on this family, Peter, Anton or Julia? It would surely be appreciated.
