You're going back to where most of my ancestors are from!!! I have a Christoph Stickel, born about 1730 in Germany, md to Agnes Duerr, born abt 1733 in Germany, who had a daughter, Rosina Stickel, born 24 July 1769 in boeringen Nagold, Schwarzwaldkris, Wurttemburg, Germany. If you are from the same family tree, you are going to the right area, going to Tubingen. Do you know if your Stickles went to Russia with most of the towns in that area? If so, there are some resources that can help you greatly! Also, in Stuttgart, the big city near Tubingen, there is a museum that has a whole history of those who went to Russia (near the Black Sea) from that area of Germany. Let me know and I will try to find the name of the museum for you. Let me know, I lived in Germany for a year and know that area a bit - plus that is where most of my family tree is currently, and so am working on it there right now.
