None of the names you mentioned seem about right, but Howard's not very big, so the odds are decent there's some connection.According to my grandfather, Jack Stewart, who grew up there and maintained a farm there for many years, there were actually three Stewart families in the area, though he always said he thought there was some connection between the two other than our line. Our line descended from John "Bully Jack" Stewart, and arrived in the country around 1805 (though he settled in Howard a bit later...I don't have the information at hand). An earlier line of Stewarts were already in the area, and my grandfather maintained these were no relation of ours and that he thought they had come to the area via Canada about the time of the revolutionary war.A third family came here from Ireland a bit after our family, though my grandfather seemed to think they might have been Old World relatives of the Canadian Stewarts.
The earliest group included a Sammy Stewart, who was one of several Stewart brothers who had farms along McBeth Road in Howard (My grandfather's farm was the former Sammy Stewart farm).
Don't know if any of this will do you any good, but I'm glad to help if I can.Do you know any more names of people connected to your Stewart relatives?
