Thank you so much for replying. The information you sent was very interesting.I am interested in any information on Lemuel Stewart and his family that you have.I have talked through e-mail with a lady who is related to Lemuel Stewart. She was the one who helped me to find out that the "Amanda Stewart" listed in the 1870 census for Duck Creek, Stoddard Co., Missouri was married to Lemuel Stewart.Amanda Stewart was really Mary Amanda Cantrell Stewart. She said that Lemuel and Mary Amanda came from Warren Co., TN just as you said his brother and father came from there. The couple that I believe were my g-grandfather's parents were both born in Tennessee. That's what the census records that I have found so far say.Their names were Edward A. Pierce and Emily J. Myers Pierce. My g-grandfather's name was Thomas Ulysses Pierce.
It may be just a coincidence, but Thomas U. Pierce named one of his sons, "Arch".It may have been "Archibald".I know my dad always talked about an "Uncle Arch".I know names are sometimes repeated in families.I don't know if we are related to the Stewarts, but there may be a possibility.Hope to hear from you again, Anita
