Looking for his parents. I have found him listed with an E. Stewart and a John L. Stewart as his father. John Lewis was my great grandfather. All I know about him is that his father was from Scotland and his mother was a Cherokee girl. I have a photo on metal of him and a son from his first marriage to a Chloe Amelia Harris.
In the 1870 Putnam Co. Missouri census his last name is listed as Steward.
