EASON, STEWARD/T from AL, ARK
Looking for information about John Eason, born about 1790/92 NC, lived in AL before coming to VanBuren Co, ARK. It appears he had a son, John b: about 1828 AL, William b: abt 1834 d: 1862 Richmond KY civil war wounds, Richard b: abt 1836 AL listed as deserted, but I can't find him on census records. Living with John Sr., was a Martha Eason b: abt 1830, who I thought was a second wife, but now this it was his daughter. She is listed as WD and S on census records. She is also listed as "aunt" on the census where she is in Bethany's son's (Mansel) house. She later lived with Bethany STEWARD b: abt 1832 and her daughter Bashaba STEWARD-BLEVINS. I am trying to find proof/information connecting Bethany/Elizabeth as a daughter of John Eason Sr.
Samuel STEWARD/T, husband of Bethany, also died in the war. He had a sister, Olly b:abt 1831 AL who was married to a WATERS. She was widowed early and also lived in VanBuren Co. with 2 children.
I believe Samuel's other sister, Mary b: abt 1828 AL was first married to a WALLEY/WALLY, then married John Eason Jr. because there are WALLY boys living with them in 1860 VanBuren ARK, and in St. Clair Co., AL in 1850.
One more possible connection, Samuel STEWARD's father possibly married a Mary Eason in 1845 in St. Clair, AL. The 1850 census lists her as Polly.
I believe Samuel's father was William STEWARD, first married to Edy/Eda BATTLES, also St. Clair, AL.
I would appreciate ANY info on the EASON's and/or STEWARD's.
Thank you, Cynthia
