The 1920 Census for Monongahela shows my
Grandfather Homer Stewart living at 513
Elmira Street. I can't read the census
to see occupation, but it looks like he
worked for the railroad. Homer was raised
by his grandparents. The family moved to
Montgomery, Lycoming County,between 1920 and 1930.
Harold Bower found in the 1900 census for Dunbar Township, Fayette County, PA, a Homer Stewart, grandson of Martin Stewart. Martin was b. ?? Dec 1841 in Franklin Township, Fayette County, PA. He and his wife Margaret, maiden name unknown, had eight children:
Anna, Mary, William, Alice, Loretta, Grier, John Wright, and Cleveland.
Possibly one of the females is Homer's mother?
Martin's father was Samuel and mother Mary Jane. Siblings of Martin were, Louisa, William H., Isaac, Anne Elizabeth, and Edward.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
