Portraits of Sarah H. Stevenson & Mr. Stevenson, Argle, NY, 19th century
The online catalog of the Skinner Auctioneers’ auction 2640B displays a number of fine portraits of mostly 19th century Americans. Two of these at this auction, lot #260, are portraits of Sarah H. Stevenson & her husband, Mr. Stevenson (no more complete name given) of Argle, NY, sometime in the 19th century. No other information about thiscouple is given in the catalog.
On the date of my writing this message, scans of the portraits are still available online at:

but they may be taken offline soon. In the event they are taken offline, I have downloaded them and will be happy to send copies freely by email to Stevenson family researchers. Someone in the family ought to have them, which is why I’m keeping copies of them and posting about them. They are too good to be missed by the family. It would be a very great shame and injustice were they to be missed by the family.
My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please note that there is a period between both of my names and between the two words in the second half of my address. Please email me directly rather than respond to me on this site as I may not see that response.
If they were portraits of a 19th century Pease couple in my line, I’d certainly hope someone would do the same for me. Call it a simple, but appropriate, genealogical good deed.
