Erasmus STEVENS @ Boston 1674-1690
Recent research indicates that Erasmus STEVENS who resided in Boston between 1674 and 1690 was a kinsman of the Thomas STEVENS who married Sarah PLACE in Boston in 1695.
DNA testing would potentially enable us to confirm (or refute) this hypothesis. Sandra Stevens has graciously offered to pay for any male direct-line STEVENS descendant of Erasmus STEVENS to participate in this STEVENS DNA project.
Because the y-Chromosome upon which all surname-based DNA projects are based is only passed from fathers to sons, only male direct-line descendants of Erasmus STEVENS have the appropriate DNA for test participation.
