Our Stevens family is Haplogroup I 1 c (Family Tree DNA testing). Did you join the Stevens/Stephens family DNA project (Bill Bailey is project administrator)? You get a discount on family members tested.
Our earliest fully documented ancestor is the Rev War soldier Edmund Stevens (b c 1738 Kittery, ME - d 1790 Addison, ME, then the Mass Bay Colony). Although our family's oral history says that we are descended from "two brothers who migrated early on to the North Shore," we have not been able to document that. Like you, we have been using DNA testing to try to find "our family."
We have always wondered about a possible connection to the New Jersey Stevenses as we have documented several instances where NJ Stevenses suddenly "appear" and marry in Addison.
