Edward Stevens, a native of Horse Neck, Long Island, born before 1775, located on a farm in the town of Putnam Valley, Putnam County, New York, and married in Putnam County a Miss ________ Hughson, born circa 1775.The township of Putnam Valley was formed from Philipstown in 1838."Edward Stephens" and wife were in Phillips Town, Putnam County, in 1820, with 5 sons and 2 daughters.They had 7 surviving children (Commemorative Biographical Record of Dutchess and Putnam Counties, 1897).
