On another page in the same booklet, "Historical Atlas of Westmoreland County, Virginia" by David Eaton, 1942:
"Nicholas Smith married first, Agatha Sterne, daughter of David Sterne, by whom he had no issue..." (possibly that should state 'widow' of David Sterne.)
"Thomas Pannill - name changed again to Pannell - made his will May 11, 1676, and probated August 1677, divided his estate between his wife, Katherine, and his children, William, Mary and Isabella and a child unborn. When William became of age he sold part of his property. He married Frances Sterne, a daughter of David Sterne, who lived nearby."
