Has anyone heard of a methodist circuit minister Rev. William Sterling ? He was born abt 1876 in England came to Canada 1905 with wife and 1st child. William Sterling married wife Annie Wallace. Their 3 children: 1)Elizabeth Sterling a school teacher who married a dentist Nelson Haynes 2) John Ewart Wallace (Wally) Sterling who was the chancellor of Stanford University in California USA. and 3) Annie Genevieve Eileen Sterling. She married twice (?) Ross and a Peter Steffin.
In 1911 William Sterling lived Middlesex West District in Ekfrid Township. Possibly in a place called Appin.
In 1921 the Sterling's might have lived in Cedar Springs, Ontario.
Or have you heard of a George Wallace (step brother of Annie Sterling) George married Marion Holmes on May 26 1920 in Chatham, Ontario , by the Rev. William Sterling. George might have worked for Canadian Pacific Railway. He had three children. 1.William Chatterly Wallace born 8.6.1921 who married Madline Pearl VanAman . Their two children william Van Wallace and Pamela Pearl Wallace.
2. George Robert "Bobby" Wallace born 30.1923 died 1944 WW2.
3. Gwen Eileen Wallace b. 6.11.1924 married Dr. H.Gordon Stratton. They had 3 children. Maryanne(married Douglas Minard), Dianne(died age5 Rosehill cemetery Amherstburg,Essex) and Joanne (married John Johns)
