Brenda -

I ran Yutility on all the data in the Stevenson group.
http://www.mymcgee.com/tools/yutility.html?mode=ftdna_mode

I show your data closest to S-58, S-18, S-25, S-16, and S-30 with a Time to Most Recent Common Ancestor (TMRCA) being 990 years to 1100 years. S-16 is 990 years and is your closest comparison. Your common ancestor with S-16 would have been about 30-35 generations back (which would have been about the time the Vikings were chopping their way into England).

As a comparison, most people in the I1, Lineage 1 group at the top of the page have a time to most recent common ancestor between each other of about 180 to 300 years. It's my belief that this group all descend from the Stephenson's of Rockingham Co. VA.

As another comparison, the TMRCA between your data and the bottom group (R1b1) is 4000-12000 years.

Do you have a userid on Ysearch? What is your closest tie there?

Mike
