My 2nd Great Grandfather, Martin (E. or Andrew) Stevens born about 1849.
I have been searching for 10+ years now with no success.
He lived in Wilkinson, Bibb, Laurens, Dodge counties in Georgia. I just found my Grandfathers (George W. Stevens) burial place in Reedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Laurens County, GA., after all these years.
He passed away when my Dad was only 2 years of age. He was the son of Martin Stevens.
Martin remains a mystery. I found a Martin Stephens in Jackson County, FL. born about 1849, and married 1868 to Eliza Ann Little. My Martin was born same year and married same year to Eliza Driggers (we think).
I always thought he was born in Ga., then I located Stephens in Florida.
I know he has to be hiding behind some "haystack" that I have not looked under yet.
Martins children are:John W., Charlie Martin, George W., and Nancy Jane.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
He and his descendents spell it Stevens. The family in Florida spelled it Stephens.
