** so they must have been married that year as shown married 0 years as they had not yet been married a full year.
There is one other Stephens family in Carsonville in 1900 and I am assuming for now that this is Levi's mother and siblings. Levi named a daughter Dora M. and this family also has a mother Dora M. There is a Martin E. as well and George named a son Martin E.

so this at least verifies that Levi is their son.
I haven't been able to find Martin and Dora in 1880 census. According to 1900 they were married about 1875 so should be there.
I found a family tree that shows Martin's parents as Martin E. Stephens and Marianne Leavitt, and Martin as born May 17, 1856 IA and married 1879 to Dora M. Kerr. They show Martin dying April 23, 1941 Deerfield, Chickasaw, IA
They also show Dora dying 1925 and Martin remarrying to Luvia Way Hodge.
I don't know if their information is correct or not but though I would let you know what it said.
