Donny,

I found a Thomas Stevens enlisted as a Private in
Co. B, 8th State Guard infantry Reg. Georgia

I am assuming he is your Thomas as I found no others in the Guards. I tried both spellings - STEPHENS and STEVENS. I have not been able to find his pension application. You mention that his widow applied for it.

Do you know her name as it may be listed in indexes under her name rather than his. Worth a try anyway.

If you know her name I will check the records I have access to.
