** I wrote the year of birth for James just as it is in census but obviously it is wrong - should be 1853 not 63

** James is listed as James A. but I am sure it is right fellow as wife and child and place are correct.
I couldn't find a James Stephens right age in Walton 1870 or earlier but will keep looking - maybe under a different spelling. You don't know his parent's names do yo??
I also tried to find a marriage for James and Betsy but had o luck.
I found a little more for you on Jeptha and will post it for you under that posting.
