Hi Bill,
I'm glad you sent the last post as I had found a Jeptha Stephans who I thought might be your Jebidiah. I have so far only found him in 1880 but will do more looking over the next couple of days. If it is him he had a lot more children.

William D. brother age 31, born GA
I will try to see what more I can find for you soon. I have had no luck at all yet finding the family in 1870 or earlier.
