Thanks Vicki;
I would not of thought to look at Sean at all.After your suggestion that the "L" was actually "S" for Sean, I took your advice to look at the family on the message board.While there is a ton of data on his father, William there is not very much on Sean.
How do you know Sean was in this area of Georgia, namely Henry County?
Since this family of Hood is from Washington Co., GA during the same time period as the suspected son's of Moab Stephens b 1755, namely John, Jacob & Joshua.We find this to be very interesting since the three boys were in the same counties.Also there is another Moab Stevens/Stephens in Montgomery Co., GA around 1796-1806 then he disappears from the records.This Moab might be the same Moab Stephens b 1755 in two area's at the same time.Perhaps moving with his sons to Georgia and moving with his other sons to Lancaster Co., SC in 1796.
Information pertaining to the Washington-Montgomery Co., GA area is difficult since the census was lost in the early years.Land records are so limit in number to be of much use in the same area.
I did a little census work on Sean Hood, which I will post below.I found a Sarah Hood in 1840 census in Henry Co., GA, which I find interesting since it contains a male age 60-70 (proper age of Sean Hood), but it stops there.
Don’s Comments:Before 1820 the census were lost somehow.Sean Hood is reportedly the father to the Hood sisters who married Moab Stephens b. 1812.

Don’s Comments:Could this Sarah actually be Sean or a variation of Sion in 1840 census?Why would a female be named head of household unless she was a widow?But at age 20-30 this seems unlikely.Could the 20-30 year old male be Moab Stephens and the 20-30 female be his wife with the two 1835-1840 be Currin and C R Stephens?Does this entry have anything to do with Sean Hood?This Hood family is the only Hood family in the county of Henry in Georgia in the index.After viewing the name Sarah Hood, it appears to be Sarah not Sean or Sion, there is not much doubt on the handwriting.
