Joshua Stephens d1843 is son of Moab Stephens
Joshua Stephens d1843 is son of Moab Stephens
Recent discovery of the Will of Joshua Stephens d1843 in Shelby Co., AL shows an aged ill father with an old slave Timor/Timon.Joshua directs his children to take care of both his father and Timor. In the property settlement or inventory for sales, a note is mentioned to Moab Stephens for a small amount like $40.
We have used this Will of Joshua Stephens and the “Gift of Timor” transaction filed in Chesterfield/Lancaster County in 1842 to prove that Joshua Stevens/Stephens who died in 1843 in Shelby Co., AL is the son of Moab Stephens/Stevens.We are looking for further information on this family to help prove the association.
We knew Moab had a son named Joshua, but we were completely off base on who it was.The Joshua d1843 history fits the timeline of our Moab and we were surprised to find Moab still living in 1843, he would be 88 years old.
If you have any information, which might help us in this discovery, please advise us.If you have questions, please ask.
