Cecile,
After writing the query to you regarding Baptist McNabb, I went ahead and looked to see what other surnames you are researching.I am curious about your Stephens/Stevens family.Do you know if any of them were ever in Illinois?I have been looking for some time at a Stephens/Stevens family in Bainbridge, Schuyler County IL, the 1850 census who I've thought very well could be related to the Wilkinsons in some way. There is a Wilkerson Stevens age 48, also an Argle Stevens age 41 who has a 1 year old daughter named Kesiah and also other Stephens/Stevens families. In Wilkerson Stephens' household is a Jesse Hardin. Hardin is the surname of Baptist McNabb's half brother Francis.I have this nagging feeling they are related somehow, but can't figure it out.Maybe it is a Wilkinson daughter that I'm missing who married a Stephens or perhaps one of Kesiah Wilkinson McNabbs daughters. There are several familiar surnames in the Bainbridge township, including some Sceggs (Skaggs?).Just wondered if you knew who these folks are.

Oh, it is interesting that your Kesiah is Kesiah Carolina. One of Baptist's cousins was Kesiah Carolina McEntire.
