Hello again,
Just for fun, I logged on to the Scotlands Peoples web site, entered the names Andrew Stenhouse and Sophia Moodie in the Marriage section and, although I could find no record of this happening between 1855 and 1932, I did find one in the Old Parish Records that says that a marriage between an Andrew Stenhouse and Sophia MOODY took place on 05.07.1811 in the town of Inverkeithing, Fife. Is this the couple you are seeking?
My 3xgg, John, was born in Inverkeithing and I have been trying to find a definite connection between himself and a James Stanhouse, who changed his name to Stenhouse when he married Isabel Wright in 1776. John was their eldest child, whose birth is around the time that my ancestor was born. Although I have been in contact with researchers who are descendants of James and Isabel's other children, they have no record of who John married. Although there are more pros than cons relating to my connection with James and Isabel's family, I have not been able to find anything definate from either the GRO Records, or the National Archives for Scotland, especially as I have found that most of my ancestors were very poor.
Regards.
Alan.
