Hello Fiona,
My great grandmother was a Stenhouse. Her father and his family came from Faldon, Scotland in the early 1800s. Anyway, You said that more than likely that the lands and castle by the Stenhouse name were never owned by any Stenhouses that they were built by Bruces. But since the Stenhouse family were a Sept of Clan Bruce, could Stenhouse castle or tower been built by the Bruces for their Stenhouse sept?
Just curious.
