I am searching for relatives ---Stengels married to Wengers---in the area of Lichteneau, Baden, Germany. I know for certain there was a Frederick Stengel..and he had brothers Michael, Sebastian, and Christian that came to America. I think the last name of the brothers was Stengel/Stangel. There was also at least one other brother that remained in Germany. One brother Frederick married a Salome Wenger and they had three children Michael a farmer, George a minister and Mary. Another brother to the ones in America who remained in Germany married Louisa Wenger and had a son Carl born 1871, Jacob born 1875 and Salome born in 1876, The brother Jacob lived in Lichtenea and was a farmer. Salome lived in Baden, Baden, and Carl worked for the Railroad and lived in Karlsruhe. Carl had three sons. I gained this information from a letter that was sent back to America about 1921. In the letter they talk about the aftermath of the War and he says his mother Louisa nee Wenger and his father died as a result of the war. This is all I have to go on. Do these names and circumstances sound familiar to anyone. If so you have relatives in America that would like to correspond. I am a descendent of the Michael that came to America. Maybe you could fill in some blanks and help prove a few things. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks. Sondra
