From the Weekly Messenger of the German Reforned Church, 26 June 1839, is
a list of subscribers to a seminary fund. It lists in Allen twp., Northamp.[sic] co.
Pa. several others and then “SAM’L STEMM 50c.” Later in the list for the same
place is “AB’M. STEMM 5”. This item was reprinted in “Genealogical Abstracts
from Newspapers of the German Reformed Church 1830-1839” by Barbara
Manning. There were various other names listed as subscribers to the paper,
but the locations are not clear.
