Stymiest family
Some of you may know me, some may not.So, let me introduce myself. My name is Steven Stymiest.I have been working on the history of the Stymiest, Becker, Harder and Gomsrudfamilies for over 6 years. I would like to tell you a little about the Stymiest Family History pages,Stymiest Family Mail List and the Stymiest Family News.
The Stymiest Family History pages started approximately five years ago with just over 600 people and the very small amount of information I had received from a family reunion. With the help of family members in Canada and New Jersey, it has grown to a site with 8,000 + people, 15 pages of written family history, The Clementine Lacy Diary, Obituaries, pictures and other items. There are approximately 111 different spellings of the Stymiest family name (ie., Stymiest, Stymeist, Stimiest, Steinmetz, Steynmets, Stynmets). All of the 111 spellings can be seen on Carl’s website, a link to his site is on my menu page. The web site can be seen at:http://www.wizardsrealmcentral.comhttp://www.wizardsrealmcentral.com .
The Stymiest Family mail list is something new.I hope that all those interested in contacting other family members will use it and also use it to contribute notices of births, marriages, deaths, and obituaries, among other things for inclusion, with permission of course, on the web site.It can be subscribed to in mail or digest mode by sending a message with only the word subscribe in the body, no other text:
Mail Mode: [email protected]
Digest Mode: [email protected]
Messages may sent to the list at:[email protected]
The Stymiest Family News is also a new undertaking and will be available for those who do not have internet access and wish to be kept up to date on what is happening in our family.I am hoping everyone who is interested will submit articles, birth notices, marriages, family reunion information, etc.
We, the Stymiest family, have a coat of arms, that was registered around 1580.Also, one of our ancestors, Caspar Steynmets was inducted into America’s First Families in December 2000.Benjamin Steynmets is listed in the United Empire Loyalists in Canada.
Many thanks to Carl Stymiest, Eldon Stymiest and Keith Stewart of New Brunswick, Canada for their research and help in making this web site what it is today, as well as all the other people who have provided information. All the contributors are shown on my credits page.Carl is currently working on a book about the Stymiest family titled:Down By The Old Mill Stream. This book/CD combo will be available sometime late this year or early 2002.He has a lot of other information and pictures which are not on my web site.
